1) When can we go back to having a cool drink on a terrace?
Most countries in Europe are experiencing important changes in the Covid containment rules in the last few weeks. Officially since last Friday, outdoor dining is allowed in many cities and with June already in sight, it seems that tourism will be possible again almost as normal.
Are we suddenly free again? Well, it's not that simple. At the moment, in order to move around freely, you need to be vaccinated, have a current negative test or have had Covid in the last 6 months and be cured.
In some countries it is compulsory for the managers of the establishments to keep a register of the guests, in order to be able to follow up possible chains of contagion.
Whatever the case may be, what seems certain is that this summer we will be able to enjoy our cigarette on the terraces again, with a cool beer or a cocktail in our hand.
2) Are there any special rules for smokers that need to be taken into account during this reopening period?
Fortunately, in summer and in the open air it is easier than in the past months. In some countries, such as Spain, there have been discussions about banning smoking on the terraces of bars and restaurants, but fortunately this has not gone ahead.
In principle, outside of bars, i.e. also on the terraces of bars and restaurants, we continue as before, with a distance of 2 metres from the neighbour in order to maintain hygiene measures and, in this case, with the possibility of smoking, as long as this distance can be respected.
3) And now that I can smoke "in society" again... what shall I smoke this summer?
